Heavy fog and bone-chilling cold have severely disrupted public life.Along with the stagnant public life, the number of cold-related patients in hospitals has increased. Cold-related illnesses are more common among children and the elderly.The cold has been felt more intensely due to the chilly wind and small fog in the district throughout the day. The sun has not been seen for two-three days. Visibility is only 200 meters and the humidity is 97 percent. Very few people are seen on the roads. Workers are not coming out on the roads. The movement of rickshaws and vans is limited, and vehicles are moving with headlights on due to lack of passengers. Meanwhile, the Boro season is underway. Farmers are unable to work in the fields.Abu Sufian, officer-in-charge of the Gopalganj Meteorological Office, said that although the temperature is likely to increase slightly in the next two days, the degree of cold in the district will remain the same.The lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Gopalganj on Wednesday this year during the winter season.
