Staff Correspondent | Dhaka: A new dining destination, Shahbag Restaurant & Kabab, officially opened its doors on Tuesday, aiming to bring together traditional Bangladeshi flavors, Chinese cuisine and modern hospitality in one of the capital's busiest commercial areas.The restaurant was inaugurated at a ceremony held on the second floor of the Shahbag Flower Market in central Dhaka. The event drew local business leaders, journalists, religious figures and political representatives.The inauguration was formally conducted by Khwaja Habibullah Habib, a member of the convening committee of BNP's Dhaka South unit and former commissioner of Ward No. 21, who attended the event as the chief guest.The restaurant is jointly managed by proprietors Md. Monir Hossain, Ridika Lyon Oishi, Md. Mohsin and Md. Abdur Rahim.Among the special guests were M. Nazrul Islam, finance secretary of the Dhaka Press Club; Hafez Maulana Md. Shafinur Rashid, Imam of Shahbag Central Jame Mosque; along with local business leaders, political figures and representatives from different professions.Speaking at the inauguration, proprietor Md. Monir Hossain said the restaurant has been designed to combine a contemporary dining environment with the authentic taste of home-style cuisine."We have tried to create a unique blend of modern ambience and traditional flavors. Alongside Bangladeshi cuisine, we will also serve a range of special Chinese dishes. Quality, hygiene and warm hospitality will be the hallmarks of our service," he said.The management expressed optimism that the restaurant would quickly become a preferred destination for diners in Dhaka by offering quality food in a comfortable and welcoming environment.A special prayer was held following the inauguration ceremony, led by Imam Hafez Maulana Md. Shafinur Rashid, seeking blessings for the success of the new venture.Located in the heart of Shahbag, one of Dhaka's busiest commercial and cultural hubs, the restaurant aims to cater to a diverse clientele, including office workers, students, families and visitors looking for a blend of local and international cuisine. The management said customer satisfaction, food quality and professional service will remain their top priorities as the establishment begins its journey.
