|| BRUR Correspondent: Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) is showcasing four innovative research projects at the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026, a national-level event organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology.Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the three-day fair at Novo Theatre in Dhaka on Saturday (September 12). The fair will continue until September 14.Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the prime minister called for transforming homegrown research and innovation into commercially viable products and connecting them directly with mainstream markets instead of keeping them confined to laboratories.BRUR Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr.Md Showkat Ali attended the ceremony and showcased projects developed by the university’s students and researchers.“Our university is always committed to showcasing the talent and innovative potential of our teachers and students at national and international levels,” the vice-chancellor said.“Only when new discoveries from laboratories find a place in commercial markets can the country’s overall economic and technological progress be accelerated. This innovation fair offers a unique opportunity for our young researchers to explore new possibilities and build networks,” he added.The four selected research projects being showcased at the fair are:1. Silicon Based Perovskite Solar Cells, 2. Agritrace BD, 3. Carbon Setu,4. Deshguard AI BRUR Registrar (Additional Charge) Professor Dr. Md Ferdous Rahman, Professor Dr. Md Mizanur Rahman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Professor Dr. Md Emdadul Haque of the Department of Disaster Science and Management, and Professor Dr. Md Kamruzzaman of the Department of Physics were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
