|| MM Rahmatullah: The Saudi Arabia–Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SABCCI) has stepped up preparations for a major trade promotion mission to Saudi Arabia, with a focus on boosting Bangladeshi exports, attracting investment and expanding business ties between the two countries.SABCCI held a delegation coordination meeting on Sunday at The Westin Dhaka to finalise preparations for the Bangladesh Trade Promotion Mission and Product Catalogue Show 2026, scheduled to be held from October 4 to 10.SABCCI President Ashraful Haq Chowdhury and members of its Board of Directors attended the meeting. Former Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Moshi also joined the meeting and shared his views on strengthening Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia business and economic cooperation.The seven-day mission will visit major Saudi commercial centres, including Riyadh, Dammam/Asharqia, Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah. The delegation will be led by Bangladesh Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir MP.The coordination meeting reviewed a range of logistical and business-related preparations, including the final delegation list, travel route, accommodation, visa facilitation, chamber engagements and business-to-business (B2B) meetings.A key feature of the mission will be the promotion of the Bangladesh Product Catalogue in both English and Arabic. The initiative is expected to help Bangladeshi companies present their products directly to Saudi importers, investors and prospective business partners.The mission has been organised under the theme “Triple Export, Triple Growth”, reflecting an effort to significantly expand bilateral trade and investment.The organisers plan to highlight opportunities in a number of sectors, including agro-food, information and communication technology, pharmaceuticals, construction, logistics, healthcare and manufacturing, alongside other emerging industries.The initiative comes as Bangladesh seeks to diversify its export destinations and strengthen economic partnerships in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia, with its large consumer market and investment capacity, offers opportunities for Bangladeshi businesses in several sectors.SABCCI is also planning to participate in AgroFood Jeddah 2026, scheduled for December 8–10 in Jeddah. The event will provide another opportunity for Bangladeshi businesses to showcase agricultural and food products and establish links with Saudi companies. SABCCI said the trade mission and related promotional activities are expected to contribute to higher trade and investment and build stronger, long-term economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
