The governing body election of Kaziyakanda Kamil Madrasa in Phulpur,
Mymensingh, was held on Sunday (April 19) in a free, fair, and participatory
manner.Voting took place uninterrupted from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Out of 519 total
voters, 168 exercised their voting rights. According to the results announced after counting, Md. Abdul Aziz was
elected as guardian member for Ibtedayi and Secondary level with the ‘Chair’
symbol, securing 75 votes. His nearest competitors, Billal Hossain (‘Electric
Fan’ symbol) received 51 votes and Abdul Halim (‘Wall Clock’ symbol) received
34 votes.For the Alim and Fazil level guardian member post, AKM Nazrul Islam won with
the ‘Book’ symbol, bagging 91 votes. His closest rival Enamul Hasan (‘Inkpot
& Pen’ symbol) got 71 votes.Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Shafiqul Islam served as the
Presiding Officer. Upazila Social Services Officer Md. Shihab Uddin Khan and
Municipal Executive Officer Md. Kamrul Haque performed duties as Assistant
Presiding Officers. Municipal Administrative Officer Golam Mostafa and Head
Assistant Md. Rafiqul Islam were the Polling Officers.
Madrasa Principal Maulana Zainal Abedin said, “The voting was held from 10
AM to 4 PM continuously in a free, neutral and peaceful environment.”
