M A Mannan, Bhola: A day-long internal training workshop was held for deed writers with the aim of enhancing professional skills, promoting integrity, ensuring good governance, and strengthening accountability at the Radhaballav (Banglabazar) Sub-Registry Office in Daulatkhan upazila of Bhola.The half-day workshop was organized on Thursday (May 21) at the Radhaballav Sub-Registry Office in Banglabazar. The workshop was conducted by Sub-Registrar Md. Mamun Sikder as the chief trainer.Among those present at the event were Assistant of the Sub-Registry Office Md. Iqbal Hossain, President of Banglabazar Deed Writers Association Md. Safiullah, along with other deed writers.During the training session, Sub-Registrar Md. Mamun Sikder said, “People purchase land with their hard-earned money and seek the assistance of deed writers to ensure smooth ownership and inheritance in the future. Therefore, the primary responsibility of a deed writer is to thoroughly verify all land-related documents. Deeds must be prepared accurately, proper market value must be determined, and all government fees including stamp duty and registration fees must be paid through Sonali Bank pay-order and attached with the deed.”He further emphasized that the activities of deed writers must remain transparent and responsible to avoid allegations of extra charges or public harassment. He also advised them to consult the responsible officials whenever they face difficulties in understanding any deed or legal matter.In the question-and-answer session, responding to a query from deed writer Manjur Morshed, the Sub-Registrar explained the legal procedure regarding the transfer of property owned by minors under 18 years of age. He stated that under Muslim law, only the father, or in his absence the mother or a court-appointed guardian, can legally manage such transfers. However, prior permission from the court is mandatory before registration in special cases.During the workshop, deed writers including Md. Nazmul Hasan, Md. Shahabuddin, Md. Shariful Islam, Belayet Hossain, Md. Javed, Md. Mosedul Islam, and Md. Jamal Uddin raised various questions related to registration procedures, and the trainer provided detailed legal explanations patiently.At the end of the workshop, the deed writers praised the efficiency and professional behavior of the current Sub-Registrar. They said, “The present Sub-Registrar is an experienced officer. He is always courteous to service seekers and deed writers. Under his guidance, we are getting new inspiration to work more accurately.”
