Md. Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: The Farmers’ Partner Congress 2026 was held in
Phulpur under the Programme on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for
Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (PARTNER), aiming to
strengthen farmers’ capacity and promote sustainable agricultural development.The event took place on Monday afternoon at the
Upazila Parishad Hall Room and was chaired by Dr. Umme Habiba, Training Officer
of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Mymensingh District.Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural
Extension, Mymensingh Region, Salma Akter attended the programme as the chief
guest, while Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Yusuf was present as a special
guest.Among others, speeches were delivered by Phulpur
Upazila Agriculture Officer Nadia Ferdousi, BNP Phulpur Upazila Convener Alhaj
Siddikur Rahman, Municipal BNP Convener Aminul Haque, Jamaat-e-Islami Phulpur
Ameer Golam Kibria, journalist Nurul Anin, and a number of successful farmers
from different unions of the upazila.The congress focused on agricultural and rural
transformation, nutrition, entrepreneurship development, and measures to
enhance productivity and resilience in the farming sector. Participants were
briefed on the adoption of modern agricultural technologies, safe food
production practices, and strategies to ensure nutrition security.The speakers emphasized the importance of empowering
farmers through knowledge, innovation, and sustainable farming techniques to
improve rural livelihoods and strengthen the country’s agricultural sector.At the end of the programme, fruit-bearing, timber,
and medicinal plant saplings were distributed among the participants.
