Zakir Hossin,Pirojpur: The district administration yesterday concluded its three-day Nazrul Year celebration in Pirojpur with a discussion, cultural performances and a prize-giving ceremony, highlighting the literary and humanistic legacy of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.The closing programme was held at Shaheed Omar Faruk Auditorium of the Pirojpur Upazila Parishad on Saturday afternoon.Deputy Commissioner Abu Sayeed attended the event as the chief guest. Among the special guests were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Alauddin Bhuiyan Jony, Principal Alamgir Hossain, a member of the BNP National Executive Committee and administrator of the Pirojpur District Council, Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mamunur Rashid, and Rahima Khatun, a lecturer at the Bangla Department of Government Sohrawardi College.Speaking at the programme, the deputy commissioner said initiatives promoting Nazrul's literature, music and ideals are essential for inspiring younger generations. He called on young people to uphold the poet's values of equality, secularism and humanity in their efforts to build a progressive and inclusive Bangladesh.Prizes were awarded to winners of competitions organised as part of the three-day celebration. The event also featured recitations, dance performances and musical presentations showcasing different dimensions of Nazrul's literary works, songs and philosophy.Government officials, teachers, students, guardians, journalists and people from different walks of life attended the concluding ceremony.
