DU VC opens new facilities at Sergeant Zahurul Haq hall

DU Correspondent: The Vice-Chancellor of University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, inaugurated several newly established and renovated facilities at Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haq Hall on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the extended section of the hall, where a newly established reading room and library, a gymnasium, and a renovated sewerage line along with a paved road were formally opened. These developments aim to improve the academic environment, health facilities, and overall infrastructure for the residential students of the hall.

Among others present at the event were Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, former residential student of the hall and Chairman of Prime Asset Group Md. Mizanur Rahman, the Provost of the hall Professor Dr. Md. Faruk Shah, as well as leaders of the hall parliament.

Speakers at the event expressed hope that the newly introduced facilities would enhance students’ academic engagement, physical well-being, and residential life. The university authorities also emphasized their commitment to continuing infrastructure development to ensure a better learning and living environment for students.
