Special Correspondent: Khelafat Majlis London branch organized a festive and meaningful Eid-ul-Azha reunion meeting on Friday, May 29 at 7 PM at the Ford Square Mosque Conference Hall in East London. Speakers at the event urged everyone to work unitedly for the welfare of society and humanity, inspired by the spirit of sacrifice embodied by Eid-ul-Azha.The program was presided over by Maulana Nufaich Ahmad Borkatpuri, President of Khelafat Majlis London branch, and moderated by the branch General Secretary Maulana Jabir Ahmad.Chief guest Maulana Sadiqur Rahman, President of Khelafat Majlis UK South branch, said in his address that Eid-ul-Azha is not merely a religious ritual, but teaches the lesson of ultimate sacrifice in every sphere of life. He said the example set by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) of sacrificing his dearest for the pleasure of Almighty Allah must be reflected in our personal, social and political lives. "When politics rises above indulgence and self-interest and is guided by the ideal of sacrifice, only then can a just and peaceful society be built," he said. He urged party leaders and activists to play a leading role in establishing a society based on justice and peace. Special guest Hafiz Maulana Enamul Haque, Vice President of Khelafat Majlis UK South branch and former President of London branch, extended Eid greetings. He said Khelafat Majlis has always played a leading role in protecting Islamic values and developing the community in the UK, and that this will continue in the days ahead.
