Chhatra Dal Stands beside Children of Floating Fisher Families

Md. Tanju, Lakshmipur: In the Chandara Khal Ghat area of Uttar Charbanshi Union under Raipur Upazila in Lakshmipur, the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal distributed new Eid clothes among children of floating fisher families. On Tuesday afternoon (March 17), around 50 children received new Eid outfits through this initiative organized by the upazila unit of the student organization. The children’s faces lit up with joy upon receiving the clothes.

Fisherwoman Nargis Akter said that due to fishing restrictions in the river, their income has decreased. She had been worried about buying new Eid clothes for her child. She expressed happiness and gratitude as her child received new clothes from the organization.

Fisherman Ala Uddin said, “Seeing smiles on our children’s faces is what makes our Eid complete. We thank Chhatra Dal for this initiative.”

Among those present were Upazila Chhatra Dal Convener Mahfuzur Rahman Hriday, Member Secretary Abdul Al Noman Rifat, Joint Convener Mehedi Hasan Ainan, and Uttar Charbanshi Union Chhatra Dal Convener Adnan Habib, along with other leaders and activists.

Upazila Chhatra Dal leader Mahfuzur Rahman Hriday said that the initiative was taken to spread the joy of Eid among everyone by standing beside children of floating fisher families. He added that such humanitarian activities will continue in the future.

He also mentioned that the program was implemented under the direction of Abul Khayer Bhuiyan.
