Pakistan Day Celebrated with Flag Hoisting Ceremony in Dhaka

The Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka marked Pakistan National Day with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony. High Commissioner Imran Haider raised the national flag in the presence of Pakistani community members, students, civil society representatives, and local media.

The ceremony commemorated the historic Pakistan Resolution passed on March 23, 1940, under Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's leadership, laying the foundation for an independent Muslim homeland.

Messages from Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar were read out, highlighting the day's significance and Pakistan's commitment to progress and unity.

The High Commissioner reaffirmed Pakistan's support for global peace and stressed the need for a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute for sustainable South Asian peace. Solidarity with Palestine was also expressed.

A pictorial exhibition honored Quaid-e-Azam's struggle for Muslim independence in South Asia. The ceremony concluded with dua for Pakistan's prosperity and progress.
