Press Conference against MP in Phulpur

Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur (Mymensingh): Phulpur Upazila BNP held a press conference to protest against the false statements and various misrepresentations made by Mufti Muhammadullah, MP of Mymensingh-2 (Phulpur-Tarakanda) constituency, against BNP.

The press conference was held at Fulbaria Upazila BNP's party office on Monday (March 23) at 12 pm. Alhaj Siddiqur Rahman, Convener of Phulpur Upazila BNP, read out a written statement during the press conference. He was accompanied by Helal Uddin Helu, General Secretary of Upazila BNP, Joint Convener Emdad Hossain Khan, Wajedul Islam, Enamul Haque Babul, Acting General Secretary of Upazila Youth Dal Islam Uddin, and Joint General Secretary Kamrul Islam, among others.

BNP leaders said they came to know through social media that Mufti Muhammadullah, MP of the 11-party alliance of Mymensingh-2 (Phulpur-Tarakanda) constituency, is making false and baseless statements against BNP and engaging in various misrepresentations. He said the ruling party's candidates and supporters are obstructing their work at every step, laying obstacles on the way, and have been a hindrance from the very beginning. They are filing cases and attacking his supporters, which has come to the notice of Phulpur Upazila BNP.

BNP leaders stated that Mufti Muhammadullah's statements are completely false, fabricated, baseless, and politically motivated. He is spreading false and misleading information with the intention of damaging BNP's image. They strongly condemn and protest his false propaganda and demand that he provide concrete evidence if BNP or its affiliated organizations have obstructed his work.

BNP leaders further said that BNP has always stood for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. Attempts to mislead people through such propaganda will not succeed. They urged all concerned to behave responsibly and refrain from trying to gain political mileage through false propaganda, warning that people will respond accordingly.
