Santa Coloma rally calls for peace

Desk Report: The Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council organised a rally at Placa de la Vila on 25 March where the city reaffirmed its commitment to peace and its rejection of war.

Participants read a manifesto in defence of human rights and coexistence during the event, which PSOE and ERC organised.

The gathering included citizens, organisations and collectives from the municipality. These groups joined a collective message supporting dialogue, solidarity and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

The Bangladeshi community in Spain also joined the rallies to demand peace in the Middle East. They called for an end to the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, urging immediate efforts to restore stability through dialogue.

The community held its protest rally at 6:00 pm in Santa Coloma de Gramenet. Mayor Mireia Gonzalez Saez attended the event and acknowledged the community’s efforts to promote harmony.

Community leaders, including President Khorshed Alam Badal, Vice President Anwar Hossain, and advisors Mosharraf Bepari and Shahjahan Karim, joined the programme. Speakers emphasised "peace, not war" and urged the international community to prioritise negotiations to ensure lasting stability.
