The victim, Gobinda Chandra Sarkar, made the allegations at a press conference on March 28, 2026.

According to Sarkar, on March 26, a group of around 50-60 people, including the UNO's nominee and local leaders, entered his land without prior notice or police presence. They vandalized his property, forcibly evicted him and his family, and looted construction materials worth approximately 2 lakh taka.

Sarkar claimed the land is not government-owned and was purchased by his father in 1943. He has been constructing a market on the land legally. The incident has sparked widespread concern locally, and the victim's family is demanding a thorough investigation, punishment for those involved, and return of their seized property.
