Massive Fuel Seizure in Phulpur Raid Sparks Crackdown Buzz

Md Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur (Mymensingh): A large quantity of petrol and diesel has been seized during a mobile court operation in Phulpur, Mymensingh.

The operation was conducted at a mini filling station named Popy Traders, located near Karaha More on Amuakanda Poyari Road in the Metropolitan area on Saturday morning. The drive was led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Sadia Islam Sima. Also present were Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Shafiqul Islam. Officer-in-Charge of Phulpur Police Station, Rashedul Islam, along with police members, assisted in the operation.

During the raid, authorities discovered 19,500 liters of diesel and 4,500 liters of petrol illegally stockpiled. It was learned that an unscrupulous trader, Habibur Rahman, had stored the fuel about a month ago and kept the mini filling station completely closed, causing severe inconvenience to local residents.

Regarding the matter, UNO and Executive Magistrate Sadia Islam Sima stated that Habibur Rahman has been fined 200,000 taka, and the seized fuel will be sold through other operational filling stations in the public interest.
