Historic Triumph: Bangladesh U-20 Clinches SAFF Title!

Sports Correspondent: The Bangladesh U-20 youth football team returned home to a hero’s welcome this evening after clinching the prestigious SAFF U-20 Championship title in the Maldives.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque and officials from the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) were present at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to greet the victorious squad. To celebrate their historic triumph, the team was later taken directly from the airport to a night reception at the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre, where fans and officials showered them with accolades.

The Bangladesh U-20 team’s path to glory was marked by stellar performances. In the group phase, they defeated Pakistan 2-0 and drew 1-1 in another engagement. The semi-final saw Bangladesh narrowly edge past Nepal 1-0, setting up a thrilling final against India. The final match culminated in a tense penalty shootout, where Bangladesh triumphed 4-3, securing their first-ever SAFF U-20 Championship title.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements, State Minister Md Aminul Haque announced a cash reward for the team, praising the players for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to putting Bangladesh football on the regional map.
