Drug Dealer held with one kilogram of cannabis in Bhola

MA Mannan, Bhola: Members of the South Zone of the Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested a drug dealer with one kilogram of cannabis during a special drive in Bhola.

The operation was conducted around 11:00 pm on Sunday (March 1) near Bir Sreshtho Mostafa Kamal Bus Stand in Bhola Sadar. During a search operation in the area, Coast Guard detained a man along with one kilogram of cannabis.

The arrestee has been identified as Md. Murad (26), son of Md. Abul Kalam. He is a resident of Kathali village under Ward No. eight of Bhola Municipality.

The estimated market value of the seized cannabis is approximately Tk 40,000. Lieutenant BN Md. Abul Kashem, Media Officer of the Coast Guard South Zone, stated that the detained and the drugs were handed over to Bhola Sadar Model Police Station.

The Coast Guard South Zone further stated that such operations will be continued in the future to protect the young generation from the devastating impact of drugs. According to local residents, regular drives not only raise anti-drug awareness but also play a significant role in curbing drug trafficking.
