News Desk: The Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir organized an Iftar Mahfil in honor of prominent personalities from various political, social, and cultural backgrounds at the Shahid Abu Sayeed International Convention Center in the capital city.
The event was presided over by Nurul Islam, Central President of Chhatra Shibir, where attended by distinguished guests, including Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Aamir of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh and Leader of the Opposition in the National Parliament.
In his speech, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman emphasized the significance of Ramadan and the importance of taqwa (piety) in Islam. He said, "Allah has ordained fasting for us, just as He did for our predecessors, so that we may attain taqwa."
Nurul Islam, Central President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, expressed concern over the current political situation in the country, saying that the election process had been marred by allegations of election engineering. He urged the government to ensure law and order and protect the rights of citizens.
The event was also attended by Dr Colonel Oli Ahmed (Bir Protik), Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party; Rashed Pradhan, Vice President of the National Democratic Party; Maulana Ahmad Ali Kasemi, Naib-e Aamir of Khilafat Majlis; and Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuaad, General Secretary of the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party.
Other notable attendees included Maulana Syed Kamaluddin Jafori, Founder and Chairman of Bangladesh Islami University; Mufti Kazi Mohammad Ibrahim, a renowned Islamic scholar, Dr. Hifzur Rahman, Principal of Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasah; and Dr Habibullah Muhammad Iqbal, Chairman of Tanjimul Ummah Foundation.
In his speech, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman condemned the attacks on Chhatra Shibir leaders and activists, saying that such incidents were a threat to the country`s stability and democracy. He also criticized the BNP for betraying the people`s mandate and rejecting the referendum results.
Nurul Islam called on the government to take immediate action to address the deteriorating law and order situation in the country and to ensure the protection of citizens` rights.
