Bangladeshi expat community in China host grand civic for DUCSU delegation

China Correspondent: The Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) delegation, currently on an official visit to the People’s Republic of China, received a grand civic reception from the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Shanghai on Friday evening.The non-political, festive event was held at a local hotel in Shanghai, organized by Bangladeshi nationals living across China. The expatriate community presented the DUCSU representatives with special crests, commemorative gifts, and honors in recognition of their visit.The reception drew a large turnout of Bangladeshi teachers, researchers, professionals, businesspersons, and students studying at China’s top universities from Shanghai and neighboring cities. The delegation was welcomed with flowers and warm hospitality, creating a celebratory atmosphere among the diaspora.The event was coordinated with support from Md. Redwanul Haque, Md. Hujjatullah, Md. Milton, Aminul Islam, Ashikul Islam Shaon, Md. Muhaiminul Islam, A B Siddique, and others from the community.During their week-long visit, the DUCSU delegation is touring universities, student unions, education and research institutes, science and technology centers, and economic institutions across China. They are also visiting sites of historical, cultural, and political significance to gain a broader understanding of the country.Organizers said such initiatives play a key role in strengthening friendship, mutual respect, and people-to-people ties between Bangladesh and China. They expressed hope that the spirit of camaraderie, culture, and friendship fostered at the reception would further enhance educational, youth, and cultural exchanges between the two countries in the years ahead.The presence of Bangladesh’s top student leaders abroad generated enthusiasm across the expatriate community, which described the visit as a source of pride and inspiration.
