University, Rangpur (BRUR) has launched a three-day free blood grouping
campaign for students of the 2025–26 academic session. The campaign was
inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Showkat Ali at the university’s
Medical Centre on Monday morning (August 17). The campaign is being
conducted under the overall supervision of the university’s Medical Centre with
support from the BRUR unit of voluntary organisation Badhan. The programme will
continue from August 17 to 19. Speaking at the
inaugural programme, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Showkat Ali praised Badhan’s
initiative, saying, “Badhan organises this humanitarian initiative every year
to determine students’ blood groups, which is highly commendable. Knowing one’s
blood group is essential for everyone. At the same time, a comprehensive
database of students’ blood groups is being developed, which will play an
important role in saving the lives of not only university students but also
ordinary and underprivileged patients in times of emergency.” He added that such
humanitarian initiatives help foster a spirit of volunteerism among students
and encourage them to stand by people in need.
Registrar (Additional
Charge) Prof Dr Md Ferdous Rahman, Controller of Examinations (Acting) Prof Dr
Md Zahid Hossain, Marketing Department Professor Md Ferdous Rahman, Deputy
Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Centre Dr AMM Shahriar, students from
