ISDE Bangladesh distributes food aid to 1500 families in Chakaria

Cox's Bazar Dist Correspondent: ISDE Bangladesh distributed food assistance to 1,500 underprivileged and low-income families in B.M. Char Union, Chakaria Upazila, Cox’s Bazar, on Wednesday morning.The distribution began at 10:00 AM and reached 1,500 beneficiary households with essential food supplies. The initiative was funded by the Saudi Arabia-based King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which implemented by ISDE Bangladesh.Organizers said that before this, food aid had already been distributed to another 1,500 families in Pekua Upazila and Pekua Magnama Union. Across Cox’s Bazar district, including various areas and Rohingya refugee camps, nearly 27,000 beneficiaries have received food assistance through the program.Present at the event were ISDE Bangladesh Executive Director S. M. Nazer Hossain, Program Coordinators Jahangir Alam, Mustak Ahmed, Tajul Islam, and Supam Barua, among others.Speaking as chief guest, Chairman of 12 No. Bhaola Manikchar Union Parishad S. M. Jahangir Alam said, “Many families are living in inhumane conditions due to disasters and economic hardship. Initiatives like this set a remarkable example of standing beside people. The affluent and various organizations should come forward to help the helpless.”ISDE Bangladesh Executive Director S. M. Nazer Hossain said, “We have been working for a long time to alleviate people’s suffering. We are trying to bring both local communities and Rohingya refugees under humanitarian assistance. Such activities will continue in the future.”Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support. Rahima Begum, a recipient, said, “Prices of daily necessities have risen a lot these days. This assistance has been very helpful for our family.”Another beneficiary, Abdul Karim, said, “Day labor work is not always available. Receiving this aid has given my family some relief.”Local public representatives present included Enamul Haque (Ward 8), Abdul Hamid (Ward 9), Jamal Uddin (Ward 7), Abdun Nabi (Ward 3), Idris Ahmed (Ward 1), Md. Yunus (Ward 4), reserved women members Bulbul Jannat and Chhenuara Begum, along with other union parishad members.Organizers said ISDE Bangladesh is working tirelessly to ensure aid reaches beneficiaries transparently and fairly, with the main goal of ensuring assistance reaches the actual deserving recipients.
