BNP walking path of autocracy by scrapping referendum verdict— Dr. Ahmad Abdul QuaderNarayanganj Correspondent: Khelafat Majlis Secretary General Dr. Ahmad Abdul Quader on Friday accused the BNP of “walking the path of autocracy” by scrapping the referendum verdict and undermining political consensus reached after the mass uprising.“The July Charter was drafted by political parties together to create balance of power and block the return of authoritarianism. But the BNP is evading it through misinterpretation of the constitution. They have repealed some ordinances and suspended others,” Dr. Quader said.He alleged that the BNP had cancelled ordinances meant to safeguard the country’s independence and guide it on the right course. “The BNP is now moving towards the Awami fascist system of governance. This cannot be allowed to continue. The people of the new Bangladesh, born out of the mass uprising, will not let it happen,” he added.Dr. Quader was addressing the concluding session of a day-long “Tarbiyati Majlis” for designated office-bearers, organized by Khelafat Majlis Narayanganj Zone. The programme began at 9:00am on Friday at Food Paradise Party Centre in Siddhirganj.The session was chaired by the party’s Joint Secretary General and Zone Director ABM Sirajul Mamun.Other central leaders who spoke on different topics during the day-long programme included Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Sayyid Ferdous bin Ishaq, Joint Secretary General Professor Muhammad Abdul Jalil, Organizing Secretary Shaikhul Hadith Maulana Sheikh Salauddin, and Training Secretary Zahirul Islam.Narayanganj District President Hafez Maulana Ahmad Ali, City President Hafez Kabir Hossain, Vice-President and Zone Assistant Director Professor Shah Alam, District Vice-President Maulana Golam Rabbani, General Secretary Mizanur Rahman, Metropolitan Vice-President Professor Saleh Ahmad, and General Secretary Elias Ahmad, among others were presented among the local leaders.
