Khelafat Majlis Announces Month-long Outreach Programme for November

Party calls for restoration of army camps in CHT amid concern over Sajek blockade

Desk Report: helafat Majlis has announced a month-long programme of religious outreach and public engagement for November 2026, aiming to strengthen its organisational activities and expand public participation in its campaign for governance based on Islamic principles, justice and social welfare.

The announcement came at the party's weekly central executive meeting held at its central office in Paltan, Dhaka, on Thursday evening. The meeting reviewed preparations for implementing the programme, with necessary instructions already circulated to the party's local branches.

At the meeting, party leaders also expressed deep concern over the reported blockade in Sajek, a popular tourist destination in the Chattogram Hill Tracts, and called on the government to take immediate steps to restore security and normalcy in the area.

The leaders alleged that armed groups in the Khagrachhari and Rangamati regions had created a worsening humanitarian situation through the blockade, while the administration had failed to ensure peace. They demanded the elimination of armed groups in the Chattogram Hill Tracts and the restoration of army camps in the region to ensure public safety.

The party's position on Sajek was among the key issues discussed at the meeting, alongside preparations for its November outreach campaign.

Explaining the background and objectives of the programme, Khelafat Majlis said it was established on December 8, 1989, by Islamic scholars and religiously minded intellectuals committed to establishing the Khilafat system and implementing Islamic principles in public life.

Since its inception, the party has pursued its activities through regular organisational and political processes, overcoming various obstacles while participating in movements and campaigns concerning national, public and Islamic interests, according to the statement.

The party said it had gradually established a positive image among people from different sections of society as an organisation seeking a balanced approach to political and social issues.

Khelafat Majlis is currently advancing a seven-point core programme and 25-point socioeconomic and political commitments, which it says are intended to establish a representative, public-welfare-oriented government founded on justice and fairness in accordance with Islamic principles.

The November programme is expected to provide an opportunity for the party to communicate its objectives, engage with people at the grassroots level and encourage broader participation in its political and ideological activities.

The party also invited people from all walks of life to join its movement for establishing a Khilafat system based on the principles of prophethood, commonly referred to as Khilafat Ala Minhaj an-Nubuwwah.

The meeting was chaired by Senior Naib-e-Ameer Maulana Sakhawat Hossain and conducted by Secretary-General Dr Ahmad Abdul Qader.

Among those present were Naib-e-Ameer Maulana Ahmad Ali Qasemi; Joint Secretaries-General Advocate Jahangir Hossain, Dr Mostafizur Rahman Faisal and Professor Md Abdul Jalil; Organising Secretary Advocate Mizanur Rahman and Professor Kazi Minhajul Alam; Training Secretary Md Zahirul Islam; Publicity and Information Secretary Engineer Abdul Hafiz Khasru; Law Affairs Secretary Advocate Shaikhul Islam; and party leaders Khondaker Shahabuddin Ahmad, Mufti Abdul Haque Amini, Maulana Saifuddin Ahmad Khondaker, Maulana Faruk Ahmad Bhuiyan and Amir Ali Hawladar.

The party said the success of its ongoing movement would depend on active participation from people across all sections of society.
