Student leaders discuss higher education, jobs and investment with Brunei envoy

Diplomatic Correspondent: A delegation of central leaders of Chhatra Pokkho held a meeting with Brunei Darussalam High Commissioner to Bangladesh Haji Haris bin Osman on Tuesday, discussing ways to further strengthen Bangladesh-Brunei relations, particularly in higher education, skilled manpower, investment and cultural exchanges.The meeting, held in Dhaka on September 22, also explored opportunities to expand educational and employment prospects for Bangladeshi youths in Brunei and enhance bilateral economic cooperation.The Chhatra Pokkho delegation was led by its central president Mohammad Prince. General Secretary Rafiur Rahman Fattah, Joint General Secretary Fawzia Korbi and Assistant Finance Secretary Saifullah Fihad were also present.During the meeting, the participants discussed expanding opportunities for Bangladeshi students to pursue higher education in Brunei, creating employment opportunities for skilled and trained Bangladeshi workers, and increasing investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.They also discussed strengthening exchanges in education and culture, with particular emphasis on expanding people-to-people contacts among young people.The Chhatra Pokkho leaders said Bangladesh's large youth population needs greater access to international education, skills training and employment opportunities to help develop a skilled human resource base. They expressed the view that new avenues of cooperation with Brunei could contribute to these efforts.The meeting also focused on enhancing cultural ties between the two countries. The participants stressed the importance of youth engagement, educational cooperation and cultural exchanges in further strengthening Bangladesh-Brunei relations.The contemporary political situation in Bangladesh and the role of the younger generation were also discussed during the meeting, according to the participants.
