Muslim man beaten to death by Hindutva mob in Tripura

Agartala Correspondent: In yet another incident highlighting anti-Muslim violence in Modi’s India, a 45-year-old Muslim man was beaten to death by a Hindutva mob in Tripura’s Khowai district after being accused of cattle theft.The victim, Jalil Rahman, a resident of Gilatali, was returning home from Bagbar with two cows he had purchased from a farmer using his own money when a group of people stopped him and launched a brutal assault.Seriously injured, Rahman managed to call his family for help. When his wife and other relatives arrived at the scene, they were also attacked by the Hindutva mob. Rahman was later shifted to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead from his injuries.The victim’s wife said the attackers also snatched around Rs70,000 in cash and her husband’s mobile phone.Police claimed that the attackers had mistaken him for someone involved in transporting stolen cattle.Authorities have registered a first information report (FIR) in connection with the incident, but no arrests have been made so far.
