Diplomatic Desk: Bangladeshi humanitarian Muhammad Raj has received a Certificate of Appreciation and Recognition from Egypt’s Regional Relief Team for his humanitarian contributions, including assistance to displaced Palestinians from Gaza and Sudanese refugees in Egypt.The certificate, signed by Dr Mahmoud Mamdouh, General Supervisor of the Regional Relief Team, recognises Raj’s efforts to support people affected by conflict, displacement and hardship.As Director General of Hafezzi Charitable Society of Bangladesh, Raj has worked with his team to provide assistance to vulnerable communities at home and abroad. Their initiatives include emergency food distribution, clean drinking water, medical assistance and support for people with disabilities and families facing financial hardship.In Gaza, their relief efforts have included distributing flour, bread, cooked meals and drinking water. In Sudan and among displaced communities in Egypt, Raj and his team have also helped mobilise assistance for families struggling to meet their basic needs.The initiatives rely on coordination among team members, local partners, volunteers and donors. While local partners help identify needs and organise distributions, donor contributions provide essential funding for relief activities.Raj’s humanitarian work has attracted media attention in Bangladesh and abroad.
