Narsingdi district crowned Champions in July Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Chhatra Shibir

Desk Report: Narsingdi District Branch emerged champions in the July Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament 2026 after defeating Noakhali City Branch in the final held on Wednesday at the A and AMS Ground, Lake City, Khilkhet, Dhaka.

Organized by the Central Sports Department of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, the month-long knockout tournament began on 15 June under the theme ‘The Pledge of July: Building a Just Bangladesh’. A total of 138 branches from across the country took part. In the semi-finals, Noakhali City Branch beat Dinajpur City Branch while Narsingdi District Branch overcame Islamic University Branch.

Islami Chhatra Shibir Central President Nurul Islam attended the final and prize distribution ceremony as chief guest. He said the month-long programs were held to demand justice for the mass killings during the July Mass Uprising and to build a fascism-free Bangladesh. He also criticized the government for not fully implementing the July Charter and the referendum verdict.

Central Sports Secretary Mushfiqur Rahman conducted the program. Former Central President Yasin Arafat, Secretary General Sibghatullah and other central leaders were present.

Narsingdi District Branch received Tk 50,000 along with the trophy and medals, while runners-up Noakhali City Branch received Tk 30,000 with medals and a trophy.
