Press conference held in Raipur ahead of Sramik Kalyan Federation central president's visit

Tanju Ahmed, Raipur (Lakshmipur) Correspondent: A press conference was held in Raipur, Lakshmipur, to ensure the success of a rally and discussion meeting organized by Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation on the occasion of International Workers’ Day 2026.The press conference took place at 7:00 pm today at the upazila office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.In a written statement, Upazila Secretary Advocate Abul Kalam said that although the working class is the main driving force of production in the world economy, many workers are still deprived of fair wages, safe working conditions, and basic rights. He noted that establishing workers’ rights is essential to building a just and welfare-oriented state.The statement added that the organization has long been working to secure workers’ fair rights, ensure an exploitation-free work environment, and implement Islamic labor policy.The rally and discussion meeting will be held on May 2 at the Raipur Bus Stand area. The federation’s central president will attend as chief guest. He is expected to provide important guidance on the country’s current labor situation, workers’ rights, and the steps needed to build a humane society, organizers said.At the press conference, organizers called on people from all walks of life in Raipur Upazila to participate in the event. They also sought the cooperation of media personnel for the successful implementation of the programme.The press briefing ended with thanks to the journalists present.
