Desk Report: Four voluntary organizations in Chattogram have received grant cheques totaling Tk 5.4 lakh to strengthen local-level social development activities. The assistance was provided under the ‘Partners for Prosperity’ program, an initiative of the private development organization ISDE Bangladesh implemented in cooperation with UK-based international development agency Muslim Charity UK.
The cheque distribution ceremony was held on Sunday, April 26, at the ISDE head office in Chattogram city. M. Fazlul Karim, Country Coordinator of Muslim Charity, attended as chief guest. The program was chaired by S.M. Nazer Hossain, Executive Director of ISDE Bangladesh and Central Vice President of CAB. Project Officer Raisul Islam moderated the event.
Speakers at the event included ISDE Program Coordinator Md. Jahangir Alam, Advocacy Officer Russell Uddin, Youth CAB Chattogram Metropolitan President Abu Hanif Noman, SOCEP Executive Director Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Social Development Society (SDS) President Ferdousi Begum Mousumi, Manjil representative Omar Faruk Mir, Youth Voice for Change (YVC) Treasurer Roni Das, and ISDE Communication & Media Officer Md. Simon Islam.
In his address, chief guest M. Fazlul Karim said, “Local organizations are the most powerful drivers of social change. When support reaches them directly, it quickly creates a positive impact on people’s lives. Through the ‘Partners for Prosperity’ program, we aim to advance sustainable development at the grassroots level. Such initiatives will continue in the future.”
Chairing the ceremony, S.M. Nazer Hossain noted, “‘Partners for Prosperity’ is not just a grant program but an effective platform for building the capacity of local organizations and ensuring sustainable development. Small initiatives lay the foundation for major changes. We hope these organizations will use this support to bring visible, positive changes in their communities."
Organizers said the program provides financial support to selected organizations to implement small-scale voluntary development projects. The assistance is expected to contribute significantly to education, health, awareness, and social development in their respective areas.
