Chandpur Correspondent: Chandpur has intensified efforts to implement special directives for agriculture and farmers’ development under the slogan “Save the Farmers, Save the Country” of Hon’ble Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. As part of the Shaheed Zia Canal Excavation Program, senior government officials, local residents, and political leaders jointly inspected canals and crop fields in Shahmahmudpur Union 4.
To ensure proper irrigation facilities and fair distribution of fertilizer and seeds for farmers, top local administration officials conducted direct field-level visits. The inspection drive reflected active administrative engagement on the ground.
Present during the visit were Upazila Nirbahi Officer S.M.A.N. Jamiul Hikma, Upazila Assistant Engineer Rahat Amin, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mohammad Aftabul Islam, Shahmahmudpur Union Parishad Chairman Mohammad Kuddus Akhand Rokon, and the Union’s Administrative Officer.
BNP Leaders Express Solidarity: In line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s directives, BNP and its affiliated organization leaders pledged to work in coordination with the local administration to change the fate of farmers.
Among those present were Dewan Shafiquzzaman, former Chairman of Chandpur Upazila Parishad and Joint Secretary of District BNP; Upazila BNP General Secretary Md. Hazrat Ali; former President and member of Shahmahmudpur Union 4 BNP and District BNP Mohammad Baker Khandaker; former Upazila BNP Vice-President Mohammad Abu Taher Khoka; Shahmahmudpur Union 4 BNP President Md. Swapan Mahmud; Union BNP General Secretary Mohammad Kamal Miji; and Union Jubo Dal leader Mohammad Mujibur Rahman Khan.
The inspection is part of ongoing initiatives to boost agricultural productivity and revive irrigation canals in line with national agricultural development priorities.
