People will judge BNP, Awami League by corruption, terrorism and price hikes: Monju

People will judge BNP, Awami League by corruption, terrorism and price hikes: Monju

Feni District Correspondent: AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Monju has said there is no difference between the BNP and Awami League in terms of dynastic leadership and bourgeois class character.

Speaking as chief guest at a political workshop organized by the AB Party in Feni on Friday, he said, “People will judge the difference between BNP and Awami League based on their real-life experience with four aspects of governance: corruption, partisanization, terrorism, and rising commodity prices. Common people will look for what changes have come after the mass uprising of 2024. If they find no change, frustration and anger will force them to think anew.”

The workshop was held at the party’s district office on Mizan Road. It was presided over by Aflatun Baki, Senior Convener of AB Party Feni district and Convener of the Workshop Implementation Committee. Lecturer Fazlul Haque, Member Secretary, moderated the event.

Engineer Shah Alam Badal, Assistant Organizing Secretary of AB Party Chattogram Division, and Master Ahsan Ullah, District Convener, spoke as special guests.

Reviewing the AB Party’s achievements and failures over six years, Monju said, “We have not achieved much success trying to do new-settlement politics within the old political system. No alternative to the old parties has yet been created. Loan defaulters, the corrupt, wealthy businessmen, those known as oppressed, and those who can touch people’s religious emotions have received public votes this time too. However, people’s growing interest in new forces is quite evident in this election’s results. If this interest and potential can be strengthened in the coming days, the victory of new politics is inevitable.”

On reforms and elections, Monju said, “We wanted reforms before elections. But BNP wanted quick elections without reforms. BNP realized reforms would harm them, so they demanded elections first. If reforms had taken place, loan defaulters and black money holders could not have contested. The old system benefits the old parties. Until the system changes, the rise of new politics is not possible.”

Engineer Shah Alam Badal said, “We have to work on the ground. Many things have happened for us coincidentally. That’s good. But without work, we won’t get results. There are both possibilities and challenges ahead. To create possibilities, we must work. The party must be introduced in every village.”

Also present at the workshop were Joint Member Secretary Nazrul Islam Kamrul, Finance Secretary Master Shah Alam Shahin Sultani, Organizing Secretary Mir Iqbal, Office Secretary Nazrana Hafiz Amlan, Assistant Office Secretary Kazi Jahangir Liton, Social Welfare Secretary AB Siddique, members Ahmed Ali Nayan, Saidul Haque Milan, Kazi Sharif Uddin Dipto, Haji Nizam Uddin, Nurul Islam Khan, Johra Akter Dolly, Sadar Convener Shahadat Hossain, Member Secretary Abu Sayed Khan, AB Youth Party Convener Shafiullah Parvez, Member Secretary Ibrahim Sohag, Chhatra Pokkho Feni District Convener, Member Secretary Belal Hossain Rafsan, and over two hundred leaders and activists from various units of the party.
