Sylhet women chamber hosts interactive session with Pakistan high commissioner

Sylhet Bureau: The Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SWCCI) hosted an interactive discussion session with Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, and his delegation at the Chamber Office in Sylhet.

The session focused on detailed discussions regarding bilateral opportunities for women-led businesses between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

High Commissioner Imran Haider highlighted the growing role of women in the current commercial relationship between the two countries. He encouraged women entrepreneurs to visit Pakistan to explore additional trade and investment opportunities across various sectors.

Key areas discussed during the session included food, agro-processing, hospitality, and fashion. Representatives from SWCCI also shared information on the indigenous craft and traditional artisan products of Sylhet, showcasing the region’s cultural and economic potential.

The event was attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, Public Diplomacy Pakistan, Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan.

Both sides expressed interest in strengthening people-to-people and business-to-business linkages to enhance women’s participation in cross-border trade.
