Qurbani teaches sacrifice, obedience and Allah's pleasure: Maulana Abdul Jabbar

Barishal Correspondent: Maulana Mohammad Abdul Jabbar, Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Barishal district, said Qurbani teaches sacrifice, obedience and attaining the pleasure of Allah. He described the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS) as a unique example of devotion and faith for mankind.

He made the remarks as chief guest at an Eid reunion program organized by Muladi Municipality unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at Shaheed Altaf Mahmud Auditorium in Muladi Upazila on Sunday at 10:00 AM.

Maulana Jabbar said Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha are the two main occasions of joy for the Muslim Ummah. “Prophet Ibrahim (AS) passed various tests of Allah and set an example of complete obedience to Him. That memory of sacrifice is still observed today through Qurbani,” he said.

He urged people not to treat Qurbani merely as an occasion for consumption, but to embrace its lessons of sacrifice, brotherhood and humanitarian values. Calling for unity to establish justice, welfare and humanity in society and state, he stressed strengthening organizational activities and public welfare initiatives.

The program was presided over by Muladi Municipality Jamaat Ameer Md. Humayun Kabir and conducted by Municipality Secretary Md. Kamal Hosen.

Special guests included Muladi Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Md. Abu Saleh and Upazila Secretary Maulana Morshed Alam.

Others present and speaking included Md. Ibrahim Khan, member of Dhaka Metropolitan South Traders’ Wing, former Barishal district president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Hafez Sanaullah Sajid, Barishal district unit member Md.
