APHC calls for urgent world attention to simmering Kashmir situation

Online Desk: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take immediate and effective steps to address the simmering situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, warning that continued Indian state repression and the unresolved Kashmir dispute pose a grave threat to peace and security in South Asia.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said the world must not remain indifferent to the state terrorism unleashed by India in Kashmir. He stressed that Kashmir was not an internal matter of India but an internationally recognized dispute and a potential nuclear flashpoint in South Asia.

The spokesman said the unresolved Kashmir dispute could provide the spark that ignites South Asia’s nuclear fuse, with potentially catastrophic consequences for the entire region and beyond. He urged the United Nations to intervene effectively to facilitate a just and lasting settlement of the dispute in accordance with its resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
