November 6 marks the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Jammu by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) extremists supported by Dogra troops and Indian army in 1947South Asian Desk: According to Kashmir Media Service, the Jammu massacre was the first case of ethnic cleansing after the second World War and Kashmiris observe Jammu Martyrs’ Day every year to remember sacrifices of Jammu Muslims in 1947.The Jammu massacre of 1947 is a dark blot on the history of mankind and was meant to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir.The Jammu massacre is a reminder of the criminal face of Hindutva forces and the chain of sacrifices that started from Jammu in 1947 is continuing till today in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.In the last 79 years, over 500,000 Kashmiris have fell to Indian bullets in the occupied territory but unparalleled sacrifices of Jammu Muslims will never go waste and would definitely bring fruit.The RSS-BJP-backed Hindutva forces are trying to repeat the 1947 Jammu massacre in Kashmir as well.Root cause of atrocities against Muslims in IIOJK is denial of the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris but the world powers must take immediate steps to stop merciless killings of the Kashmiri people.Modi and his cohorts must be held accountable for their war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied territory.
