Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka marks first anniv of 'Marka-e-Haq' with solemn tribute to armed forces

Diplomatic Correspondent: The High Commission of Pakistan in Dhaka on Sunday commemorated the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq— The Battle of Truth — with a solemn ceremony highlighting the valor and unity of Pakistan’s armed forces and people.

The event, held at the Chancery, was attended by academics, journalists, and members of the Pakistani community in Bangladesh, including students.

Messages from the President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, and Chief of Army Staff/Chief of Defence Forces were read out on the occasion. The messages paid rich tributes to the courage, sacrifices, and unwavering resolve demonstrated by the Armed Forces and people of Pakistan during Marka-e-Haq.

The leadership assured the nation that Pakistan’s Armed Forces remain fully cognizant of and completely capable of meeting future challenges and threats. Reiterating Pakistan’s principled stance, the messages reaffirmed support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people, stressing that lasting peace in South Asia would remain elusive without a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Emphasizing Pakistan’s responsible role in the region and beyond, the messages underscored that Pakistan not only knows how to defend itself but has also emerged as a guarantor of global peace and stability. Homage was paid to the _Shuhada_, with a renewed pledge to remain united in defence of the motherland.

The leadership further reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to rooting out terrorism and stated that Pakistan would not allow the territory of any country to be used against it.

Addressing the gathering, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh Imran Haider paid glowing tributes to Pakistan’s armed forces and the resilient people of Pakistan who stood united against what he described as unprovoked Indian aggression. Pakistani students and community members also lauded the civilian and military leadership, Armed Forces, and the nation for their resolute unity during Marka-e-Haq.

A pictorial exhibition at the Chancery showcased key moments from Marka-e-Haq, while a special documentary highlighting the professionalism and bravery of Pakistan’s Armed Forces was screened for participants.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
