Special Correspondent: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami undertook large-scale removal of sacrificial animal waste across Dhaka Metropolitan area during Eid-ul-Azha, with party leaders claiming the initiative succeeded where Dhaka City Corporation allegedly failed.
Speaking as chief guest at a meat distribution program organized by Ramna Samajkalyan Society on Thursday afternoon at Bailey Road, Jamaat-e-Islami Central Executive Council member and Dhaka Metropolitan South Ameer Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul MP directed party activists to clear waste. “Even if Dhaka City Corporation fails, Jamaat-e-Islami will successfully remove sacrificial waste,” he said. He criticized the city authorities, stating, “Our past experience proves the City Corporation has always failed to provide proper service in waste removal and overall activities. They only have empty words.”
Meat distribution and waste clearance: Bulbul MP said Jamaat activists began slaughtering animals and preparing meat from morning for distribution among the poor, helpless and underprivileged in every area of Dhaka metropolis. He personally participated in distribution activities in several areas.
He also announced that Jamaat-e-Islami has been treating families of martyrs of the July Uprising as its own since the beginning and will continue humanitarian responsibilities for them. “Jamaat-e-Islami stood by, stands by, and will stand by the injured July fighters in any need,” he added. He noted that Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has declared martyr families as Jamaat’s family, and party leaders are fulfilling humanitarian duties accordingly.
Leaders visit martyr families on Eid day: On Eid day morning, Bulbul MP and other leaders visited the family of martyr Kamal Mia in Paltan. Later in the afternoon, they visited families of martyrs Aslam, Arif, Shahadat Hosen Shaon, Jihad, and Jahangir Alam in Jatrabari, Dhaka-5 constituency. They also visited families of martyrs Naeem Howlader, Shakil, and Nasir Uddin in Kutubkhali, and families of martyrs Nur Hosen, Jihad Hosen, Ahmad Abdullah, Jahangir Khan, Robin Mia, and Abdul Hannan in Mokarram Mosque Shekdi area. Leaders inquired about their welfare and provided financial assistance and gift items to each family.
Addressing the program, Jamaat Central Karmaparishad member and Dhaka South Nayeb-e-Ameer Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin said Jamaat stands by martyr families and injured July fighters across the country. “Those who sacrificed their lives for the country are our national heroes and honored martyrs before Allah. Jamaat-e-Islami will not let their contributions go in vain. Building the new Bangladesh of the martyrs’ dream will be done by Jamaat-e-Islami, InshaAllah,” he said.
DUCSU VP Abu Sadik Kayem said, “The lesson of Qurbani is the lesson of sacrifice. Just as the whole nation sacrificed in the July movement for a just state, we must remain prepared for the future. Dhaka of the future will be for the people.”
The meat distribution event was presided over by Ramna Samajkalyan Society Chairman and Dhaka South City Corporation Ward 19 councilor candidate Abdus Sattar Suman. Also present were Society Secretary Md. Atikur Rahman, local businessman Abdullah Al Faruk, and other prominent residents of Ramna area.
Other leaders present included Central Karmaparishad member and Dhaka South Nayeb-e-Ameer educationist Abdus Sabur Fakir, Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Dhaka South Assistant Secretary Mohammad Kamal Hosen MP, Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Dhaka South Assistant Secretary Dr. Abdul Mannan, Metropolitan Karmaparishad member Syed Zainul Abedin MP, Metropolitan Karmaparishad member and Social Welfare Secretary Shahin Ahmed Khan, and Metropolitan Assistant Publicity Secretary Abdus Sattar Suman.
