BJPA Advocates Religious Freedom, Peace and Stability in South Asia

Press Release: The Bangladesh Justice Party (BJPA) is closely observing recent social, humanitarian, and regional developments across South Asia. In light of reports, analyses, and commentaries published by various national and international print, electronic, and digital media outlets, the Party expresses concern regarding issues related to the security, dignity, religious freedom, and constitutional rights of diverse religious and ethnic communities in the region.

The Party firmly believes that the rule of law, human rights, religious freedom, equality, and mutual respect constitute the foundation of a democratic and pluralistic society. Discrimination, hostility, or violence directed against individuals or communities on the basis of religion, ethnicity, language, identity, or social status can undermine social cohesion and long-term stability.

The Bangladesh Justice Party further maintains that matters relating to border management, migration, citizenship, and humanitarian concerns should be addressed in accordance with applicable domestic laws, international human rights standards, and established diplomatic norms. Transparency, accountability, mutual trust, and constructive dialogue are essential for preserving peace and stability throughout the region.

Commenting on the issue, Dr. S. Z. M. Salehuddin, President of the Bangladesh Justice Party, stated:

“Human rights, religious freedom, and equal protection under the law are fundamental and universal rights of all people. We support the protection of the dignity, security, and lawful rights of every individual, regardless of religion, ethnicity, language, or background.”

Mr. Anok Ali Hossain Sahedi, Secretary General of the Party, added:

“Peace, stability, and sustainable development in South Asia require mutual respect, tolerance, constructive engagement, and commitment to universally recognized humanitarian values. All stakeholders should work together to promote peace, social harmony, and the protection of fundamental rights.”

The Bangladesh Justice Party calls upon neighboring countries, the international community, United Nations-related institutions, human rights organizations, diplomatic stakeholders, and peace-loving people around the world to play a constructive and responsible role in advancing human rights, religious tolerance, social harmony, and regional stability.

The Party also reiterates its support for friendly relations between Bangladesh and India based on mutual respect, sovereign equality, regional cooperation, and good-neighborly engagement for the benefit of both nations and the broader South Asian region.
