Staff Correspondent: In a significant move to strengthen student welfare and financial protection, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) has signed a group insurance agreement with National Life Insurance Company Limited, one of Bangladesh's leading life insurance providers. The initiative is expected to enhance health and financial security for thousands of students while promoting a safer academic environment.The agreement was signed on July 19 at the university's Administrative Building in Dhaka. Following the signing ceremony, National Life's Chief Executive Officer, Md. Kazim Uddin, formally handed over the insurance documents to Professor Dr. Md. Belal Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University.The event was attended by Professor AKM Ruhul Amin, Director (Finance and Accounts); Professor Dr. Sarwar Hossain, Director (Planning and Development); National Life's Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Prabir Chandra Das, FCA; Head of the Group Insurance Division and Executive Vice President Kazi Mohammad Mohsin; and Public Relations Officer Amir Hossain Jony, among other officials.Under the agreement, all eligible students of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University will now come under the coverage of National Life's group insurance scheme. University officials said the initiative is designed to provide greater health and financial protection, ensuring that students receive timely support during unforeseen circumstances. They described the agreement as a milestone in building a safer and more secure future for the university community.Speaking at the ceremony, National Life CEO Md. Kazim Uddin expressed satisfaction over the partnership, saying the company was proud to extend insurance protection to SAU students.
