Md Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: A special cleanliness drive was conducted in Phulpur upazila of Mymensingh on Sunday as part of efforts to prevent the spread of dengue.
The cleanliness
campaign was jointly organised by the Phulpur Upazila Administration and the
Fulbaria Municipality at 10:00am. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Yusuf
led the overall initiative.
As part of the
campaign, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Municipal Administrator Md
Shafiqul Islam led a cleanliness operation at the municipality's Gol Chattar
area. Municipal Engineer Mahmudul Islam and other officials and employees were
also present during the programme.
Later, a school
cleanliness campaign was conducted at Kaziakanda Government Primary School
under the slogan, “Where I Am, There Is Cleanliness.”
The campaign was aimed
at raising public awareness about cleanliness and maintaining a hygienic
environment to help prevent dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.
Upazila Assistant
Primary Education Officer Omar Faruk and teachers of the school were present
during the school cleanliness campaign.
The initiative
highlighted the importance of collective efforts by local authorities,
educational institutions and residents in maintaining clean surroundings and
preventing the breeding of dengue-carrying mosquitoes.
