Mijan Akanda, Phulpur Correspondent: The monthly meeting of the Upazila Law and Order Committee was held in Phulpur of Mymensingh on Thursday, with discussions focusing on traffic congestion, illegal establishments, drugs, theft, eve-teasing, child marriage and online gambling.The meeting began at 11am at the Upazila Parishad conference room, with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sadhana Tripura in the chair.Among others, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Phulpur Police Station Mohammad Yasin Russell, Upazila BNP Convener Alhaj Siddiqur Rahman, Municipal BNP Convener Aminul Haque, Upazila BNP Joint Convener AKM Sirajul Haque, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Rahat Chowdhury, and journalists Humayun Kabir Mukul and Mizanur Rahman Akand attended the meeting.The participants discussed the overall law and order situation in the upazila and identified several issues requiring attention. These included easing traffic congestion at Phulpur bus stand, removing illegal shops and establishments, preventing child marriage and eve-teasing, and taking measures against drug abuse, theft and online gambling.The meeting also stressed the need for coordinated efforts among the administration, law enforcement agencies, elected representatives and journalists to maintain peace and stability in the area.UNO Sadhana Tripura said all concerned must play their respective roles responsibly and work together to ensure that the law and order situation in the upazila remains normal and stable.She emphasized greater coordination among government agencies, law enforcement personnel, local representatives and members of the media to address emerging challenges and maintain a safe environment for residents.The meeting concluded with a call for continued cooperation among all stakeholders to strengthen law and order and ensure public safety across Phulpur.
