Akij Pipes Launches ‘Foo-Ball Championship’ to Ride World Cup Fever

Innovative breath-powered football competition to tour the country with branded caravans, entertainment and prizes

MM Rahmatullah: Akij Pipes has unveiled a unique nationwide football-themed campaign, the Akij Pipes Foo-Ball Championship, aiming to capitalize on the excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026 by introducing an innovative version of the game powered by players' breath instead of their feet.

The campaign was officially announced at a press conference held at Akij House in Dhaka on Sunday, where company officials described the initiative as a creative effort to bring football fans closer to the World Cup celebrations through an interactive and entertaining experience.

Unlike conventional football, the Foo-Ball Championship requires participants to control the ball by blowing air through specially designed Akij Pipes installed on a customized playing platform. Competitors must use precision, strategy and breath control to guide the ball into the opponent's goal. Organizers said the game's simple rules make it accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.

As part of the campaign, four fully branded Akij Pipes caravans will travel across different divisions and districts, hosting the championship alongside a range of entertainment activities, interactive engagements and prize-winning opportunities for spectators.

Speaking at the launch, Paritosh Chandra Mitra, Chief Operating Officer of Akij Pipes, said the initiative reflects the company's commitment to innovation and customer engagement.

"Akij Pipes always prioritizes innovation and customer satisfaction. The Foo-Ball Championship is a reflection of that creative thinking. Through this initiative, we have transformed a common product into an extraordinary experience of joy and celebration, strengthening our connection with football enthusiasts," he said.

Md. Shakibul Shahin, Head of Brand at Akij Group, said the campaign goes beyond conventional brand promotion.

"This is not just a brand campaign; it is an expression of our respect and love for the millions of football fans in Bangladesh. We want to take the excitement of the FIFA World Cup to every corner of the country through our caravans and create memorable experiences that bring people together," he said.

Company officials said football holds a special place in the hearts of millions of Bangladeshis, serving as a symbol of passion, excitement and unity. Through the Foo-Ball Championship, Akij Pipes aims to celebrate that enthusiasm while offering fans a fresh and engaging way to experience the spirit of the World Cup.
