Md. Mijanur Raahman Akanda, Phulpur: The 46th founding anniversary of the Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal, the volunteer wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), was observed in Phulpur of Mymensingh with a colourful procession and a rally.The anniversary programme was held on Wednesday afternoon. The procession began at Amuakanda Mor in Phulpur municipality and marched through several roads in the town before ending at Gol Chattar, where a rally was held.Mymensingh North District BNP Joint Convener Motahar Hossain Talukdar attended the rally as the chief guest. The programme was chaired by Saiful Islam Kamal, convener of the Mymensingh North District Swechchhasebak Dal, while its member secretary, Mahibul Haque Tutul, conducted the event.Among those present were Aminul Haque, convener of Phulpur Municipal BNP; Rukonuzzaman Rokon, senior joint convener of Phulpur Upazila BNP; AKM Sirajul Haque, joint convener; Tozammel Haque Rubel, senior joint convener of the municipal BNP; and former general secretary of Phulpur Municipal BNP Emran Hasan Pallab, among others.Leaders of the Mymensingh North District Swechchhasebak Dal also attended the programme, including Joint Convener Akikul Bashir and Office Secretary Faruk Ahmed. Mymensingh North District Jubo Dal member Wahedduzzaman Mithun and Jubo Dal leader AKM Ariful Haque were also present.Local Swechchhasebak Dal leaders, including Phulpur Upazila unit Convener Habibur Rahman, Member Secretary Delwar Hossain and Municipal unit Convener Mizanur Rahman Duronto, joined the programme along with leaders and activists of different BNP-affiliated organisations.The colourful procession and subsequent rally brought together a large number of party leaders and activists in Phulpur as they marked the organisation’s 46 years of political activities.
