DU Correspondent: A 15-member delegation from the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU), led by Vice President Sadiq Kayem, departed for China on Saturday, May 16, for a week-long visit at the invitation of the Chinese Embassy.
The delegation left the university campus for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 7 PM.
Before departure, the DUCSU leaders met with Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam for a courtesy meeting. The vice chancellor wished the delegation a successful and fruitful visit, and prayed for their health, safety, and well-being during the trip.
The 15-member team includes DUCSU VP Sadiq Kayem, GS S M Farhad, AGS Mohiuddin Khan, Liberation War and Democratic Movement Secretary Fatema Tasnim Juma, Science and Technology Secretary Iqbal Haider, Common Room, Reading Room and Cafeteria Secretary Umme Salma, International Secretary Jasim Uddin Khan, Literature and Cultural Secretary Musaddik Ali Ibn Mohammad, Research and Publication Secretary Sanzida Ahmed Tonni, Sports Secretary Arman Hossain, Student Transport Secretary Asif Abdullah, Social Welfare Secretary AB Zubayer, Career Development Secretary Mazharul Islam, Health and Environment Secretary Abdullah Al Minhaj, and Human Rights and Legal Affairs Secretary Md. Zakaria.
During the week-long visit, the delegation will tour various Chinese universities, student unions, education and research institutions, science and technology centers, and economic organizations. They will also visit sites of historical, cultural, and political significance in the country.
