Poor Families Receive Heifers in Tarash Under Bangladesh NGO Foundation Support

Tarash Correspondent: Heifers were distributed among poor beneficiaries in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj on Sunday under a livelihood support initiative funded by the Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF).

The distribution programme was held at the Tarash Public Library premises, where the Managing Director of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation and former Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, Md. Shahjahan, formally handed over the heifers to the selected beneficiaries.

Also present at the event was Abdul Majid, Executive Officer of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation.

Among the distinguished guests were Tarash Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nusrat Jahan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sharmistha Sen Gupta, Officer-in-Charge of Tarash Police Station Md. Habibur Rahman, Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Md. Badal Mia, Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Taizul Islam, Vice-President of Poriborton, a partner organization of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation, Md. Amiruzzaman, Director Abdur Razzak Raju, and other local officials and community representatives.

The initiative aims to improve the livelihoods of underprivileged families by providing income-generating assets, enabling beneficiaries to become economically self-reliant through livestock rearing.
